Anneke Kawau

Anneke Kawau is General Manager and Partner at Ray White Wānaka, bringing a decade of experience in real estate sales, marketing and business leadership. Her career has included involvement in more than 160 sales with a combined value exceeding $75 million, giving her practical experience of the preparation, negotiation and communication behind a successful result.

Her leadership recognition includes Chairman’s Elite Business Leader for Ray White Invercargill in 2020/21, followed by Elite Business Leader recognition there in 2021/22 and 2022/23. At Ray White Wānaka, her business leadership has been recognised at Elite level in 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26. These achievements sit alongside her personal Premier Performer recognition in 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23.

Beginning her real estate career in Invercargill, Anneke developed a successful sales team before becoming Managing Director of Ray White Invercargill. She describes herself as “a marketer and negotiator who happens to specialise in real estate”, an approach that connects thoughtful property presentation with a clear plan for reaching buyers and negotiating a sale.

Clients have valued her honest, timely feedback, attention to detail and ability to explain the sales process clearly. Her experience working alongside James McRobie and their support team reinforced her belief that complementary skills, careful preparation and reliable communication make a difference throughout a campaign.

Today, Anneke focuses on helping the Wānaka team perform at its best. Structured training, ongoing professional development and dependable administrative and marketing support are central to her approach, giving agents the support to concentrate on their clients. She brings a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Management from the University of Otago to this work, together with hands-on experience in building and leading a real estate business.

Alongside business partners Duncan and Kelly Good, Kate Le Brun and Josh Thomas, she is committed to developing a positive, capable team with a strong understanding of the Wānaka market. Practical use of technology and digital marketing supports that work, while mentoring and collaboration remain at its heart.

Outside the business, Anneke’s greatest success is her family. She and her husband Jason, together with their children Rio, Opi and Zinzan, share a love of the outdoors, fitness and property ventures.
