The strong turnover momentum in the Wanaka real estate market continued through April, breaking the half-century mark once again and matching March’s stellar result with another 53 residential house sales.
A key driver behind this momentum was the Fonterra payout, which stimulated fresh buyer activity, with purchasers entering the market motivated and ready to secure holiday homes in the area. The timing also helped offset any potential cooling in the market caused by the current fuel crisis and the uncertainty surrounding it.
The median house price remained solid at $1,650,000, with five sales exceeding the $3 million mark, demonstrating continued strength in the upper end of the market.
Our Ray White Wanaka office has been exceptionally busy during this period, accounting for one in every three residential sales in April, supported by some outstanding auction results.
